When inspired speakers could no longer present from the TED stage, we brought the stage to them.

TED has established itself as a household name through its signature TED Talks and global conferences. When the pandemic upended the live events industry, TED tapped People’s TV to adapt their signature red stage to the virtual space. Allowing Thought Leaders to continue to inspire audiences during a time of unprecedented challenges.

TED Uncharted

Instead of losing their famed conferences to the pandemic, TED saw an opportunity for new ways of connection, collaboration, and interaction.

The eight-week program offered ways to deepen community relationships and, together, re-imagine what the future can be.
People’s Television worked closely with TED coaches, curators and leadership to bring 31 talks and musical performances to life, infusing each talk and performance with as much passion and power as if it were delivered from the TED stage.

Using remote crews and web-linked cameras, microphones, and even smartphones, we coordinated a COVID-safe worldwide production that brought viewers into the homes of some of our world’s most illustrious orators.

TED Climate Countdown

In the summer of 2020, TED spearheaded Climate Countdown, a global initiative to champion and accelerate solutions to the climate crisis.

Supporting this virtual summit, People’s Television produced over 20 TED Talks and musical performances featuring leaders and trailblazers in science, art, activism, politics, and economics, each with a unique perspective on the climate crisis.

Our tools and techniques not only empowered TED speakers to become their own videographers, but also enabled our production team to film in nine different countries–each with their own COVID compliance rules.

Reflecting the values of Climate Countdown’s message, the production techniques that we developed to meet this unique moment minimized our carbon footprint while still maintaining creative quality.

This combination of technology and creativity enabled TED and global climate activists to continue their mission of sharing important ideas, culminating in a YouTube launch that garnered over 15 million views worldwide.

In the Green: The Business of Climate Action

The Climate Pledge is an undertaking by 313 of the world’s biggest companies and organizations to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040 — TED Countdown set out to tell the stories of some of these corporations who are innovating and adapting to make this pledge a reality.

 

Our six-episode miniseries features industry leaders explaining global changes in their approach. Using sit-down interviews plus customized motion graphics, these complex system technologies are made elegantly simple.
